PM Dahal wins vote of confidence

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has received a vote of confidence from the House of Representatives (HoR), Speaker Devraj Ghimire announced at the HoR meeting today. In the motion tabled before the HoR, Prime Minister Prachanda got support from 172 HoR members.

PM Dahal reiterates need for national consensus

Government decides to retain subsidy on chemical fertilizers

The government has decided not to implement the decision of a thematic committee under the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development to cut subsidy on chemical fertilizers. A Cabinet meeting held today at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers agreed to halt the Ministry’s decision to cut the subsidy and keep it unchanged.

TU directs campuses to conclude FSU election before March 26

The Tribhuvan University (TU) has sought the completion of Free Student Union (FSU) election in its all constituent and affiliated campuses before upcoming March 26.  TU Vice Chancellor Pro Dr Dharmakant Baskota has directed to those campuses where the election was halted on March 19, the schedule fixed for the election, to ensure it before the given date in view of the TU exam schedule beginning from March 26.

Govt promotes 5 DIGs to AIG

The government has decided to promote 5 Deputy Inspector Generals of Police (DIGs) to Additional Inspector General of Police (AIGs). The government promoted five DIGs — Basanta Bahadur Kunwar, Tek Prasad Rai, Deepak Thapa, Shyam Lal Gyawali and Kiran Bajracharya — according to the recommendation made by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
