KATHMANDU: Minister for Health and Population, Mohan Bahadur Basnet, has said the citizens could feel reforms in the health sector within the next six months.

He announced that no Nepali citizens would be denied basic healthcare services.

“No Nepali will have to suffer for want of medical care,” he said, adding that all mismanagements in the health would be cleared off and the citizens’ right to basic healthcare services would be guaranteed.

He claimed reforms concerning the citizen’s access to quality services, social justice, policy-level improvement, good governance and administrative reforms during his time at the office.

Implementation of the provision of 10 percent free hospital beds for the poor ones and the formulation of the National Health Finance Strategy (2080-2090 BS) and the Nepal Health Sector Strategic Plan were outlined as major accomplishments of the health minister’s 100 days at the office.
