KATHMANDU: In response to the devastating Jajarkot earthquake, Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has called a meeting of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority.

The meeting to be held this morning at the office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers will be attended by Deputy Prime Ministers, ministers, Chief Ministers, leaders of opposition parties, experts, Chief Secretary, and chiefs of security bodies.

The Secretariat of the Prime Minister said that the discussion will revolve around assessing the damage, implementing relief efforts, coordinating rescue operations, and planning for the treatment of those affected.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority was established as per Section 10 of the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act, 2074 BS.

It is chaired by the Prime Minister.
