NWPP makes clean sweep in Bhaktapur municipality

BHAKTAPUR: Nepal Workers and Peasants Party (NWPP) has made a clean sweep in Bhaktapur municipality.

NWPP’s mayoral candidate Sunil Prajapati has defeated his rival Ram Kasula of the Nepali Congress by securing 29,252 votes. Kasula obtained 3,407 votes.

The NC had formed an electoral alliance with the CPN (Unified Socialist)

The bail was confiscated after Kasula failed to get 10 percent of the total votes cast

Similarly, mayoral candidate of CPN-UML Rabindra Lachhimasyu got 2,841 votes.

Independent candidate Satya Twayana secured 2,399 votes while Tulsi Suwal of the CPN (Maoist Center) obtained by 761 votes.
