Ruling alliance decides to give full-shape to cabinet sans Nepal-Khanal faction

NC to have 8 ministries, Maoist Center and JSP 7 each

KATHMANDU: The ruling alliance has decided to give a full shape to the cabinet without the participation of the Nepal-Khanal faction of the CPN-UML.

During the meeting of the top leaders of the ruling coalition held on Thursday, it was agreed to give the full shape to the cabinet without including the Nepal-Khanal faction.

Nepali Congress (NC) and the CPN (Maoist Center) and the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) have agreed to share the ministries, giving the Nepal-Khanal faction maximum opportunities in the government and constitutional appointments.

A meeting of the top leaders held on Thursday morning prepared a preliminary draft on power-sharing, according to which NC will have eight ministries, including the Prime Minister while the Maoist Center and the JSP will get seven ministries each.

Sources have said that there was a general discussion on who will get which ministry including the minister of state.
