KP Oli throws negotiation card when he is in trouble: Madhav Nepal

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has said there is still a possibility of UML unity if his six-point proposal is implemented and that party Chair KP Oli is used to throwing negotiation card whenever in trouble.

In a virtual meeting of the people’s organizations close to leader Nepal Wednesday, Nepal said unity effort was not taking a meaningful form. “We are not against unity. But the six-point proposal is unlikely to be implemented.”

According to leader Jayanti Rai, who participated in the meeting, there is no official dialogue of the task force formed to resolve the dispute within the party. Leader Nepal said KP Oli throwed the negotiation card whenever he finds himself in trouble.

“We are not against unity either. But most of the participants have suggested that if KP Oli is not ready to come to an agreement, there should not be much confusion,” said Rai. During the meeting, objections were raised against the statement issued by the leaders of the people’s organizations close to Chairman Oli.

“We welcome the decision to expel him (leader Nepal) from the party,” the statement said. It was discussed that the release was issued under the direction of KP Oli. Such a statement cannot preserve unity,” said Rai.

Leaders have suggested that if leaders of people’s organizations are to hold talks, they should try to set a time, otherwise they should start building a separate party.

But the leaders of people’s organization said that there should not be much confusion in the name of talks. The meeting also decided to issue a joint statement by the leaders of people’s organizations.
