Health Ministry appeals to people aged over 60 years to stay indoors

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population has appealed to people aged over 60 years to stay at home, saying that the risk of the coronavirus infection in Kathmandu Valley has increased.

Speaking at the regular press briefing on Tuesday, Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam has urged the people over 60 years and those with other health problems, including cancer, respiratory illness, heart disease and kidney-related ailments and pregnant women not to go out of the house.

Gautam said, “Maintain a physical distance of two meters, use a mask and sanitizer and wash your hands with soap and water timely if you have to go out of the house”.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health and Population has expressed concern over the growing coronavirus infection in the Kathmandu Valley.

Spokesperson Gautam said that hundreds of health workers have been infected in the Kathmandu Valley and it would be difficult to provide services to patients.
