KATHMANDU: India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Thursday said that India and Nepal have decided to move ahead passing through the period when the countries had issues.

In an interview with The Hindu, Jaishankar signaled that the Nepal-India relation has passed through a rough time and is heading towards normalization.

“…yes, there was a period where we had issues, but I think we can clearly see in the last few weeks India and Nepal have decided [to move ahead] and it’s something mutual,” he said when asked would he judge the success of firmness while Nepal hasn’t budged.

On a separate note, Jaishankar said that talks with China on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) could take much longer.
