Journalist in UP stripped, thrashed, and urinated upon

LUCKNOW: A journalist in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh was thrashed on camera by some Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel, Indian media reports have said.

The police personnel has been seen slapping and thrashing the journalist.

The journalist has alleged the police personnel of torturing him. ANI report said that the journalist said that the policemen in plain clothes hit his camera and it fell down. When he tried to pick up the camera, the police personnel hit and abused him. Later, the journalist was locked up, stripped and he accused the policemen of urinating in his mouth.

Videos circulated on Twitter. Meanwhile, the UP Director General of Police, OP Singh has ordered for immediate suspension of Shamli Rakesh Kumar and Constable Sanjay Pawar involved in thrashing the journalist. According to police, strict punishment shall be accorded to them.
